We always look for discounts to stretch our travel budget when making travel plans. We take advantage of group affiliation discounts for travel discounts. Many people access their perks on the credit cards. Affiliation memberships may also come from a school alumni or a community group membership. I access several discounts from my affiliation related to my profession as an educator.
Educator Travel Discounts
As a retired educator, I can access several teacher travel discounts. Here’s where I have been able to get some deals:
Edvantage Membership
Ontario educators can join Edvantage which creates promo codes & discounts for several products and services.
We have used the discounts at the following:
- Parknfly- Average savings for a 3-day park- $35
- VIA Rail – 15% off
- Car rentals- 20% off through the car rental portal
- Hotel offers- 10% off
- Columbia and Mark’s clothing – at least 10% discount

Both of these portals have various travel discounts for educators. Perkopolis is available to all Canadian educators.
Vacations To Go Travel Discounts
We enjoy searching for discounted cruises on Vacationstogo.com. Occasionally, we find special teacher rates. We had to upload proof of my teacher’s status to receive the discount when booking a cruise.
Deal Hack Blog
While writing this post about educators I discovered the Deal Hack blog. I found this article, https://dealhack.com/ca/blog/canadian-teacher-discounts It has up-to-date discounts listed by region and category for Canadian educators.
I learned there are international teacher cards! These cards are recognized in multiple countries for local attractions and service discounts. I always take a digital copy of my OCT card when I travel as some museums admit teachers for free!
