Middle age is a great time to travel. After reading Die with Zero by Bill Perkins we refer to this time in our life as the go-go years. We have the time, health and money to explore.

We travel to learn.

We travel to see new places and people. Sometimes it’s for a long weekend and sometimes it’s for longer.

Travelling in your 50s has some advantages. Our travel plans are more flexible. We can travel further afield and can invite family and friends to travel or visit us. We can now travel at different times of the year and for longer stretches of time since we are no longer locked into 9 to 5 jobs. We can take more time to visit a new place.

We also know ourselves better. We have a mid-range budget for travel and so we can afford some comforts while on the road.

I took my first plane ride at 6 months of age and I have never looked back! I met my husband because of a travel photo. Together, we have travelled to 47 countries; some for a day and some for a couple of years! We love to share what we have learned along the way to make travel easier for those of us who are middle-aged with mid-range budgets.
