Packing List for 50+ Travellers

With each trip we take, we seem to find ways to pack lighter even if the trip lasts longer. Less really is more.

Here are some items to consider for your next trip:

  • pack medications in labelled containers & make copies of prescriptions
  • extra pair of prescription glasses
  • take quick dry clothing that can be hand washed. We often shop for travel clothes in second-hand shops like Talize
  • Sign up for ebooks/audiobooks with your public library and download the app. We read on our phones. They are free and take up no space.
  • A/C adapters for the correct countries you are travelling in
  • download/print all important booking information for flights, hotels, tours etc.
  • give family/friends a copy of your itinerary
  • cell phone for photos and connectivity Use an eSIM like Airalo or Yesim or purchase a local SIM cards for your unlocked phone
  • Portable charging block
  • a waterproof raincoat
  • all of these items should be in your carry-on luggage when possible!

We have added affiliate links to some of our posts. Feel free to explore them. If you make a booking through our links, we may receive a small cash commission. It will help us to extend our travel budget!

I took my first plane ride at 6 months of age and I have never looked back! I met my husband because of a travel photo. Together, we have travelled to 47 countries; some for a day and some for a couple of years! We love to share what we have learned along the way to make travel easier for those of us who are middle-aged with mid-range budgets.
