Our short stay in October 2022 was a great sampling of Rome and the Vatican city. We stayed on the 16th Century street called Borgo Pio which is a block from the Vatican walls.  Priests, nuns and friars all walk along this street to purchase their religious clothing. We stayed at the Hotel Santa Anna. We were well taken care of with prosecco in our room on arrival and delicious breakfasts on both days. Nina the dog relaxed out on the front step.
We enjoyed a gluten-free Italian dinner and we also took a skip-the-line tour of the Vatican. Lucia was an excellent guide from Made in Rome Tours. We found this tour through Viator. The skip the line tours are a must for busy places such as the Vatican tours.
We will definitely be back to this very walkable city!

I took my first plane ride at 6 months of age and I have never looked back! I met my husband because of a travel photo. Together, we have travelled to 47 countries; some for a day and some for a couple of years! We love to share what we have learned along the way to make travel easier for those of us who are middle-aged with mid-range budgets.
